What A Boy!

Nana: Jack, what's in your hand?
Jack: A booger ball!
Nana: (laughing of course) Jack, that's yucky. (she grabbed a Kleenex and took the booger ball from him)
Jack: while sticking his finger in his nose he says, "That's okay! I just get another one!"

Jack-thank you for being hilarious! Mommy loves you!

She Has No Idea

I recorded her playing with Jack.
It just makes me laugh everytime I watch it.
Love you, Mom!

I Love Him! I Love Him! I Love Him!

But I hate HotWheels!

If you have boys you are familiar with the newer hotwheels that change color when put in cold water. Well, Little Boy was playing in his room while I cleaned the house. I checked in on him from time to time. It was always the same...playing with this cars. Um, then he came and asked me for a towel.

Jack: Mommy, I need a towel.

Me: Why?

Jack: I just need to clean the water on my carpet.

Me: Why is there water on your carpet, Jack?

Jack: I just trying to make my cars cool. I just want them to change colors.

So, we went into his room and I just about died. Yep, that drawer was full of water, friends. With all the cars inside, of course. Jack has 2 color changing cars...not a whole drawer full!! I had to dump out all the cars and then wipe out the drawer.

Jack is so much fun!

Newport 2009

Jack and I went to Newport in August with the Sanford family.
Jack had fun at Disneyland this year. I was a little worried we would have a repeat of last year's adventure. But, he did amazing! Even slept in his stroller for 2 hours. That never happens. The first night we were there I had so much fun. Erin and Kaity had me in tears. My cheeks hurt from laughing so hard.
We had so much fun and we're glad we went!

Jack is such a ladies man. This little girl immediately started to follow him. It was cute.

This picture makes me feel so proud! If you look closely you can see Sam leaping out of the hole. Apparently, Jack thought it was a good place to take a dookie. That's my boy. We were all dying. It was hilarious.

Hey, At Least He Knows His Shapes

Jack: MOM! MOM! HURRY! COME QUICK! I HAVE TO SHOW YOU SOMETHING!!
Me: (sprinting up the stairs for sure expecting to find blood or something) JACK, WHAT IS IT? ARE YOU OKAY?
Jack: YEAH, I OKAY. JUST LOOK AT MY POOP...IT'S A RAINBOW POOP, MOM! SEE! IT'S A RAINBOW SHAPE! THAT'S COOL, MOM?! I A SUPER-HERO!!!
Me: Uh, yeah that's pretty cool, Jack. Thank you for showing me. I wouldn't have wanted to miss that.
Jack: You're welcome, mom. Don't flush it, okay. I want to show Reiss.
Me: Sorry, friend, we are sending it on it's way.
Jack: Aw, mom! Okay...I do it again some other days?
Me: Sounds like a plan!

Who Knew?

Jack taught me 2 very important things today.
- grasshoppers are called hopgrassers
-camels have big bumpers on their back

Two Things...

that Jack has said in the last couple of days that continue to make me laugh.
1. Mom, your mission control is not working well. Sorry.
2. Aye aye, Captain Mommy!!

Resourceful

The other day my mom and I were loading some stuff in the back of her truck. I left Jack in there so he wouldn't get in the way. I had the windows down so I could hear him. After a few minutes it got quiet. Too quiet. I peeked through the window to check on him and found him with his pants down to his ankles peeing in a bottle. He just looked at me and said, "I just had to go pee, mommy."

Little Boy's Song

Every night, I have to sing Jack to sleep. So, last night, I told him it was his turn to sing me a song.
Don't take my mommy away.
My girl.
My sweetheart.

Boo!

Tonight, Jack, my mom and I went to this little shop to find a present for my niece. They had some Halloween decorations sitting out front of the store. Jack saw a ghost and shouted, "Hey, that's not the Holy Ghost!"

Yowza!!

Little boy had 4 pulpotomies.
I'm not a bad mom, I swear! We brush. Maybe not religiously. But, we brush. Plus, Jack loves to have his teeth flossed. I swear dentists just make cavities at check ups. (kidding-my father in law is a dentist. he checked it out too) Because of Jacks age they had to put him under anesthesia. I was f.r.e.a.k.i.n.g out to say the least. I even went and got a second opinion. He gave me the same answer. Blah! I decided to go with the doctor who gave me the second opinion...Dr. Chamberlain. He is amazing! I felt calm the second we walked into his office. Everyone was great.
So, I scheduled Jack's surgery for August 31 at 9:15 am. He couldn't get eat or drink anything after midnight. Perfect! He sleeps in until then anyway.
Oh, but then I got a call saying he was being bumped to 12:45 pm!! No food after midnight and only clear liquids until 8 am. Hello! Got a 3 year old here who loves to eat. I was very mad. I decided to let him stay up for as long as he could so he would sleep in late the next morning. He made it to 1 am and woke up at 9 am. Plan failed. It broke my heart when he asked to eat or for something to drink. We had to be at the surgical center by noon. When we got there I was told they were running on time. Liars! Try over an hour behind. It was frustrating. By this point, he was scared and ready to leave. I kept telling him he was going to go get his super hero teeth. He didn't want them anymore. He wanted chicken. Sad! They finally came and got him and he was so so brave. He looked incredibly scared but didn't cry when he left me. After he was out of site I lost it. He did amazing though!

Trying to pull an all-nighter before the big day!

Waiting to go back to yet another waiting room.

Showing off our "tickets" to the "ride" that will take us to get our super hero teeth.

Bored and Hungry

Getting very antsy at this point.

The "ride"

Both very nervous right now.

They had me wait in the recovery room. The second he woke up they brought him to me. I'm not going to lie it was scary. He was shaking like crazy, his eyes were buggin out and he was screaming. I thought he was going to go into convulsions. He was just very disoriented. It was scary for him too. He had no clue what was going on either.

We went home and he slept for several hours. When he woke up he wanted 2 bagels, a quesadilla and a big tall giant water. That was his only request.
He was back to normal after eating. You would have had no idea he even had any work done.
I am so proud of Jack for being so brave!!
Love you, Little Boy!!

We Were Bored

I found my wedding dress and Jack wanted to put it on.
He kept reminding me he wasn't a princess...he was a dragon!!!

Little Einstein?

Perhaps

Since we had some issues with preschool this year I decided that Jack and I would do "Momma School." He loves it. He gets his backpack ready and goes outside and knocks on the door. I bought some workbooks and put them inside page protectors. We use dry erase markers so we can keep using them. It's worked out great. Jack calls this is "ome work." I have been working with him on tracing letters, what sound each letter makes and now we are going to start working with flash cards and learning to read. He uses correct wording almost all the time.
Example:
Mommy is cool. Papa is cooler. Nana is coolest.
He just cracks me up.

Anyway, here are a couple of Jack's tracing worksheets he has been working on.

Move Over, Fellas!

There were some kids out riding their bikes behind my parents house the other day. They would go fast so they could skid their tires. Jack saw them do it once and then he wanted in on the action. Keep in mind that these boys were all older...8,9 and probably 10. Hilarious that my 3 year old had to show them how it's really done.
