Louisiana Folk

My brother and his family finally came for a visit. We have missed them! Jack is always talking about going to Uncle Shane's house so he can play games. All the cousins had such a fun time.

Jack and Lo playing. These two were so close when living in Colorado. It was cute because Lo would just randomly walk up to Jack and start kissing him.

You'll never be able to guess where Jack is in the picture

Seriously, the next 2 pictures are h.i.l.a.r.i.o.u.s. But, if you don't know Syd, then it probably won't be funny I guess. She thought it was fun to stand in the water until one of her sandals came off and went floating down the river. No one even stopped to help her. We were too busy laughing and taking pictures. Poor girl had to be freezing. She lived.

She did manage to save her sandal though.

The Many Faces Of

Jack D Sanford

Frosting...
Who doesn't love it?
Jack wanted to eat frosting right out of the container. I told him he could put a finger in and get a little bit.

"Mmmmmm! More frosting, mommy! I got more fingers!"
Jack, you're a crack up!
Love you, buddy!

3 going on 16

There are times when Jack acts like he really is three.
Then there are times when I hear him talk to his friends.
He sounds so grown up.
Last night, he was sitting on our neighbors porch with his new friends.
They were eating brownies and laughing. Being kids.
Out of nowhere, Jack says, "My daddy is in heaven with Jesus. He is in the blue sky with him."
He was pointing to the sky-it was both cute and heart wrenching.
It seems like he has to grow up faster than he should have to.

Jack the Dog

Potty Training -
It's been interesting.
He was doing great. No diapers. No accidents...well, maybe one or two. Then all of a sudden we're back to using pull-ups. It's mainly for just in case purposes.
There has been a couple times when I have let him go outside. Hey, when you gotta go, you gotta go. He knows he is supposed to go in the potty. Shoot, he will even go do it by himself...hence the pee smell coming from the bathroom.
Anyway
This morning I let Roger (Roger is my sister in laws dog) outside to go potty and I asked Jack to stand on the porch to make sure Roger didn't run off.
I went back inside to pick up the cereal that little boy so kindly threw on the floor for me. Love him! When I was finished I went outside to check on them and found Jack with his pants down to his ankles spraying the sidewalk.
Me: Jack!! We don't go potty outside. We use the big boy potty!
Jack: Mom, only dogs go potty outside?
Me: Yes, only dogs go potty outside.
Jack: Mom, I a dog. (he gets on all fours sticks out his tongue and starts panting)
Clever. Very Clever.

Last Stop...

Las Vegas
My sister in law, Kaity, was having her sweet 16 and I thought it would be fun to go down there and surprise her. So, the day of her party Jack and I jumped in the car and headed to Las Vegas. It was the longest drive. Jack would not take a nap. Would not watch any movies. Would not stop talking. We talked about everything....every cloud in the sky, every bug on my window, why cars were yellow, green or red, why he had to take baths, why there were cows in the field, why he couldn't pet the cows in the field, etc.
When we finally got there I couldn't wait to have someone else entertain him so I could go sit in a room. In silence.
No one was home.
I called up Grammy to see what she was doing and she was out running errands. I told her we were on their front porch. She got there in 10 minutes.
We had such a fun time. I'm so glad we went.
Here are a few highlights from the trip.

Little boy sleeping with daddy's blanket.

Clearly he wasn't finished eating.

Oh my gosh, this is Jack in Danny's old outfit. Well, the shoes weren't Danny's. So, don't look at them. We found them at the last minute at some store. He had to wear something. Jack looked so cute. I wanted to eat him.

Idaho

The second part of our trip landed us in Idaho. My nephew, Bo, was baptized and we only planned on staying a couple days. But, we ended up staying for a week. I'm so glad we did. Jack loved every second at Grandma and Grandpa Amy's house. He was on the go every second of every day. So much to do! He was also able to spend time with his cousins. He adores them. They had so much fun. Plus, I had the chance to fall madly in love with my nephew, Koltin. I have missed him ever since we left there.

Whenever we went out to feed the horses Jack thought he needed his hat then too.

4 weeks later...

and we're back!!
Jack and I have been busy. We went to Colorado, Idaho and Las Vegas. We're pooped!!
Our trip to Colorado was fun. It's always fun to see my parents. I miss them all the time. We were there for 2 weeks. It rained every. single. day. In between rain showers Jack and I would go outside and play...in the mud. What else are we going to do?
A few pictures from Colorado

Happy Anniversary

4 down...eternity to go.
Alright alright, I promise I won't make this cheesy. I just want to list a couple of things I love about Danny.
He never complains about my cooking.
Never says a word if I wear sweats e.v.e.r.y.d.a.y.
I always get to choose which side of the bed I want to sleep on.
He never argues with me...I guess I'm just always right.
He never tells me no.
He always lets me choose what we'll watch on TV.
He's just a angel. No, really he is.
In all seriousness, I miss my sweet husband. I miss his smell, his eyes, his voice, his touch, his smile, his laugh. And his hugs. Oh, how I miss his hugs. I miss finding him asleep on the couch with his glasses on. I would slowly take them off and cover him up. There are no words to describe how much I miss him. There is a pain in my heart that will never go away. He's my best friend. I look forward to seeing him again. Danny once said, "Traci, we can and will be eternal companions. Our time will have no end. We have the kind of love that will keep us young. If you know nothing at all, know that Danny loves you."

Jack is so smooth. In nursery all the kids were coloring while the teacher walked around and talked to everyone. She knelt down by Jack and started talking to him...probably got lost in his big brown eyes. While still coloring he just casually looked up and said, "Teacher, you want to come to my house and play with me?" We couldn't stop laughing. He has good taste though. She was cute.
