The Beach

Oh, how Jack loved the beach. It was his first time there and he loved it. He would just lay there and let the waves hit him. He loves the water...and judging from the pictures, he loves the sand too.

Disneyland Disaster

Well, I really thought Jack would love Disneyland. I was wrong. But, in his defense, he was extremely tired. He went to bed late the night before and had to get up at 6 am the next morning for Breakfast with Minnie. Once we got there, Captain Hook had to come make things worse. Jack didn't like him to say the least. That pretty much set the tone for the rest of the day. There were some rides that Jack didn't mind. But, all the others, he hated. I know that if he hadn't been tired he would have loved it. It had just been a busy week for him. He did enjoy the water area at Bug Land. That was the highlight of his entire day.

Of course, the little stinker falls asleep right as we get to the car. Couldn't fall asleep inside the park. Nope! (we had to buy him a new outfit. he was soaked from the water)

He liked Toon Town for about 2 seconds. Just long enough to go down the slide.

He did like Autopia though. Driving cars makes him happy.

California

Jack and I just got back from California today. We had so much fun. We met Danny's family there and Jack was the center of everyone's attention. He didn't want for anything....if he did, it was quickly taken care of. We stayed at the most amazing place. There was so much for us to do there.

Jack making a slam dunk. No big deal.

They had a play area for the kids and had something for them to do every second of the day. Jack and I went to a fun with beads class. I love how focused he is in this picture. Every time he got the bead on the string he belted out, "I DID IT, MOM!"

Um, after this picture was taken, we had to leave. Jack got really excited and dumped the beads...everywhere. That was fun to pick up. I'm sure they are still finding beads on the floor.

Blast Off!

Jack flew on an airplane for the first time on Monday. It was quite the experience. As soon as we got to the airport, he wanted to be on the plane right that very second. Then once we got on the plane it was only cool for the first 10 minutes. He said, "Rocket Ship all done, Mom. I want out!" Nice. But, they did let Jack go into the cock pit and sit in the captain's chair. He loved all the buttons and even pushed some of them. He thought he was pretty cool. Jack has really been obsessed with The Little Einsteins lately. So, he thought the airplane was a rocket ship. Once we started to take off Jack screams "BLAST OFF" at the top of his lungs. It was hilarious.

I got this harness that attaches to the lap belt at www.kidsflysafe.com. I knew if I didn't have it Jack would climb out of the lap belt. He did pretty good...

Until the end of the flight. Then he tried to escape.

So Glad...

I had a boy. I love love love finding him doing the sweetest things. I came downstairs the other night and found him staring at his cars. A neighbor of ours is letting Jack borrow these cars and he is obsessed with them. He can play with them for hours. Jack is growing up so fast...I hate it. I'm having so much fun with him right now, I just don't want this time to ever go away. Unfortunately, it going away fast. Jack's been calling me "mom" lately. Not "mommy" or "momma." But, "mom." My baby is growing up.

New Wheels

Jack's got a new ride. He's been gettin around on his new scooter. He didn't know what to think of it at first. But, he loves it now. He rides it all over in the house. He is constantly saying, "watch me, mom! watch me!"

Like Father Like Son

Seriously, Jack is a crack up. This is the get up that he wanted to put on the other night. I wondered where he got his sense of style...I know I'm not great, but I do try to coordinate. Then I remembered seeing a picture of Danny from when he was a kid...BINGO! He gets it from his dad. I remember Danny cracking up when he saw that picture. I can't wait to see Jack's reaction to this one when he is older.

Glad I went to Kneaders

Jack and I were supposed to go to my sisters for a BBQ tonight. But, I just wasn't in the mood for burgers. So, before we headed over there we stopped at Kneaders to get some sandwiches. They all gave me a hard time because I didn't want to BBQ. They were teasing me about being too good for them. I had the last laugh though...I looked outside and all I saw were flames. Yep, that's right. Their burgers were ruined. They had to dump baking powder on the grill to put out the fire. So, while Jack and I had great sandwiches, they warmed up hot dogs in the microwave.

Pioneer Day

Jack and I had a wild time today. Not really, but it sounded good. We went swimming for a couple hours today...which was great because it wore Jack out. We came home and he went right to sleep. We went out to my sisters house tonight to watch fireworks. Jack loved them!

He Makes It All Worth It

Here are some random pictures of Jack. Lately, Jack has either been making me want to pull my hair out or is cracking me up. Yesterday, while I was in the shower, Jack comes in and says, "sorry momma." It was just so casual. Like it was no big deal. I soon found out what he was sorry for...he dumped out all the Pringles and stepped on them! Yes, one day I will look back on this and laugh...but, not for awhile. A long while. Tonight I told him it was time for bed and he needed to go pick out his books. We read 4 books every night. He brings me 8 tonight. Ya think he's trying to put off going to bed? After we read, we sing our songs....then lights out.

Here's our conversation as we're laying in there in the dark.
Jack: Mommy, I pooped.
Mommy: No, you didn't.
Jack: Mommy, I want juice. (I hand it to him)
Jack: Bank you, mommy.
Mommy: Your welcome, Jack. Night night.
Jack: Mommy, I pooped.
Mommy: No, you didn't.
Jack: Mommy, I want rocket ship.
Mommy: It's sleeping.
Jack: Mommy, I want Oswald.
Mommy: He's sleeping.
Jack: Mommy, I want Daisy.
Mommy: She's sleeping.
Jack: Mommy, I want Nelly. (neighbors dog)
Mommy: She's sleeping.
Jack: Mommy...(I cut him off)
Mommy: JACK! CLOSE YOUR EYES AND GO TO SLEEP! (I'm saying this in the most patient loving voice. But, I'm screaming it in my head)
Jack: Okay, mommy.
Jack: Mommy, tickle back. (I'm banging my head against the wall at this point)
I eventually won.

So, Utah is weird! It was completely quiet around hear on the Fourth of July. Every time I would ask someone why they weren't popping fireworks, they would tell me it was because it wasn't dark out yet. What?! When I was little you were up with the sun popping fireworks. So, Jack and I went and bought some stuff and he had so much fun throwing his little poppers. In fact, I had to go back 3 times to get more. We went and watched my nephews shoot off some fireworks that night. Jack loved it.

Jack helped frost the cake. But, pretty sure he got most of it on his face.
